HAYA

Haya has a lot of shades that can be seen in physical appearance and in a person’s inner self. Haya is in your speech, worship, dressing and in all our dealings with people. It is also the feeling that we get when we say something that we shouldn’t, and we realize it later. We get a prick in our consciousness that makes us say that we shouldn’t have done that. Hiding our secret thoughts from others that we don’t want anybody to know is also a form of haya. But if a person doesn’t have haya then what is exposed in front of others may it be your body or a dirty thought it doesn’t really matter.

Haya is like a circuit breaker from Allah as it protects the appliances from burning when there’s a surge in voltage so haya protects us from a lot of the deeds that can burn us in the hereafter. Haya protects each action of ours. It is not a one-dimensional simple straightforward concept. It affects each area of our life. But our modern culture now is trying to suppress the natural inbuilt haya which is happening all around us. We are being socialized into suppressing our haya. We are expected to be brash and confident and a little out there in short you must have a little less haya and little less modesty and that is named confidence. If a person talks less or if a girl avoids talking to guys other than work, then we say what’s the matter with her such "antisocial behaviour". We are so much influenced by the west that we try to Islamize every little thing where we try to take deen and dunya together and in this desperate attempt we compromise on our deen. we should know that finding a better alternative for every Islamic thing or thing related to Islam is not necessary. Also, there is a misconception that haya and modesty are only for women and not men. In Islam, Haya is a characteristic that is highly valued in both men and women. And yes!! Haya refers to our dress code as well. Our Faith, Eman and Haya should manifest and if that isn’t happening then there is something seriously wrong. If there is haya inside, it will show on the outside. Haya inside will manifest itself outside it's not possible that it doesn’t.

What is the reason our level of eman is boosting in Ramzan? The whole environment is conducive, the good stuff is happening all around us. Our deeds tell us if the eman is increasing in our hearts or it’s getting less. So, it is not possible that you’re doing whatever you please and flouting Allah’s commands and yet you claim to have a great deal of eman and haya.

The first entity that requires haya is ALLAH so we should be ashamed to do any deeds that are not liked by our Allah especially when we are alone. We all need to ask ourselves can we really keep Allah out of our lives? We have kept Him out of our hearts, but can we really keep Him out of our lives? NO.

Even if we say that I don’t believe in Allah and I’m an atheist we still can’t keep Him out of our lives.

ALLAH HAS THE RIGHT THAT WE SHOW HIM HAYA AND THE ONLY MANIFESTATION OF THIS HAYA IS BY LEADING OUR LIFES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE QURAN AND SUNNAH.
